The St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Department of Surgery prides itself on providing safe, high-quality care to its patients. The Department consists of 12 divisions: breast, cardiac, colorectal, minimally invasive, pediatric, plastic and reconstructive, renal transplant, robotic, research, thoracic, trauma/critical care, and vascular surgery.

    Committed to Your Care

Each division is committed to providing comprehensive, compassionate care to ensure the best outcomes for patients and their families, while striving for the highest standard of skillful, high-quality care.

Our surgeons are leaders and innovators, teachers and researchers in the areas of minimally invasive, colorectal, bariatric, vascular, endovascular, robotically-assisted, and breast surgery, to name just a few.

The Department of Surgery’s Center for The Institute for Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery is one example of our Department’s commitment to excellence and innovation. The Center is one of the busiest in New York City, performing approximately 400 cases per year. It is a certified Center of Excellence by the American College of Surgeons level 1A, and one of five centers designated by New York State for the surgical treatment of obesity.

The Department of Surgery enthusiastically accepts the responsibility and challenge to strive for the highest standard of skillful and compassionate care, teach subsequent generations of surgical leaders, and foster an environment of research and innovation in a manner befitting our surgical heritage.

Our surgeons accept most insurance plans, and can work with individuals to find the best payment options. We invite you to visit our website, www.slrsurgery.org, for more information on our divisions and programs.
